We are Team Cheetah (Year 5). Our class teacher is Miss K Edson. Our Teaching Assistant is Miss O Roberts. On Monday afternoon we have Miss D Lincoln who teaches us French and Computing.

PE is on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Children are given homework on a Monday and needs to be returned by Friday morning. If it is not returned children will have to go to detention to complete the homework.

Homework will consist of a set of spellings, a piece of SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) homework and a piece of Maths homework. All homework which is sent home will be related to what the children have been doing in class the previous week and is differentiated to the child’s ability meaning the children should be able to complete it independently. If a child is unable to complete their homework for whatever reason, they are more than welcome to attend Homework Club on a Wednesday Lunchtime.

We can - not stress the importance on reading at home. We do not expect children to read every night but we would be grateful if they could read as often as possible and if you could sign their home reading record to show us they have read.

Our topic this half term is Ancient Greece. We are looking at where Greece is and what it is like there. We are also looking at the similarities and differences between Ancient Greece and modern day Greece. We will be learning about the Leaders and Fighters, Believers and Thinkers, Artists and Athletes, Children and Families of Ancient Greece as well as finding out all about the Olympics, Philosophy, Slavery and Battles and much more.
